COPING SKILLS

Life is filled with an abundance of stressors and difficulties that everyone faces at some point.  How you deal with these challenges will shape your path to pursuing your goals and allow you the ability to determine what barriers will block your progress.  Having a toolbox of coping strategies is essential for reaching and obtaining life goals.

LIFE SKILLS

Thera are four components to address the Life Print Skills. They are

1. Critical thinking (mind and muscle development),

2. Positive relationships (providing armor for your heart),

3. Parenting (protecting your future legacy and your home environment),

4. Fiinancial responsibility (preparing and protecting your livelihood. sustainability and beyond).  ​

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Job readiness skills, resume building, dressing appropriately for interviews and network building - establishing the difference between a job or a career.

MANAGING STRESS

Each participant will learn how stress impacts life, not just emotionally, but physically and mentally.  We will examine the potential causes of stress and the physical manifestations.

MANAGING ANXIETY

This workshop highlights the significance of anxiety. The ability to identify the common causes of anxiety along with establishing coping mechanisms can reduce the negative impact on individual circumstances.

TRUST

This curriculum discusses the definition of trust and the barriers that can hinder positive relationships also acknowledging the importance of trusting authority and people in uniform again.

LIFE TRANSITIONS

Helping participants learn how to use The Tisdale’s Ten Techniques to navigate transitioning back into the community.  Offenders must confront many obstacles when they leave prison.  Many of these are reoccurring such as unemployment, lack of education, substance abuse and low self-esteem. Many will also be faced with new unforeseen obstacles as a result of their time in prison.

DRUG AWARENESS & SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION

This workshop focuses on the dangers of using controlled substances. Showing participants that substance abuse is a potential barrier that could derail your goal achievement on your journey through the Life Print.
